Bob Garot grew up on the fringe of the Mojave Desert and now spends his free time jogging in the Tuscan countryside. The poems in Thoughts on Crashing were written between 1993 and 1997, as he experienced dramatic changes and deep bereavement, including the death of his sister Michelle and a difficult divorce. Bob’s passion for poetry goes back to his college years, when he took creative writing courses at the University of California, Los Angeles. Some of his poems, first written down in diary form between 1987 and 2012, are gathered under the title of Festering Memories in the second part of the book Thoughts on Crashing.
